Two UT Martin students accompanied Dr. Mark Statler, director of choral activities and assistant professor of music, to the Tennessee-American Choral Directors Association Summer Conference, held July 20-22 at First Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Grace McGregor (left), senior music education major from Martin, and Ella Sego (right), master of music education student from Bartlett, took part in a collegiate honor choir performance with Dr. André Thomas (center), a noted composer and conductor who has conducted in locations around the world. Thomas, who retired from Florida State University in 2019, was a director of choral activities and professor of choral education at FSU.
