Dr. JAMYE LONG | Dr. COOPER JOHNSON
Dr. Jamye Long and Dr. Cooper Johnson, both professors of management, presented their paper titled “Reintroducing Common Sense to Organizations: Identifying Self-imposed Barriers That Impede Managers-in-Training Success Through an Interactive and Experiential Learning Environment” at the 26th annual academic conference of the Society of Business, Industry, and Economics, held April 8-10 at Miramar Beach, Florida.
The presentation, based on a paper, sought to better understand the frequency of skills often associated with common sense and quality problem-solving, such as critical thinking, communication, brainstorming, researching and assessing possible solutions.
The findings of the study determined that within the construct of the experiment, common sense was a rare commodity.
