A multidisciplinary team from UT Martin participated in the annual conference of the Tennessee affiliate of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (TnAFCS) held June 5 at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City. Presenting their pilot project were (l-r) Dr. Amy Richards, associate professor of food and nutrition and dietetics and director of the didactic program in dietetics; Dr. Melissa Wood, assistant professor of family and consumer sciences education; and Lori Littleton, assistant professor of food and nutrition and hospitality and food service management; and Heidi Busch, associate professor of library science from the Paul Meek Library. The pilot project, “One Step at a Time for a Healthy Future,” seeks to improve student nutrition, exercise, health and wellness. Wood was sworn in as the TnAFCS president at the meeting.
