Three students at the University of Tennessee at Martin are the recipients of the inaugural Simmons Bank Student Development Scholarship for the 2023-24 school year.
Receiving this year’s scholarship are:
• Omaria Crutchfield, a senior accounting and finance major from Olive Branch, Mississippi.
• Kathia Velasquez, a junior accounting and finance major from Dyersburg.
• Rebecca Worley, a sophomore accounting and finance major from Lawrenceburg.
Simmons Bank has committed $9,000 annually to establish the scholarship in support of the UT Martin College of Business and Global Affairs. Each student will receive $3,000.
To receive the scholarship, students must be enrolled at UT Martin and pursuing a major in the College of Business and Global Affairs. Students must demonstrate a successful academic performance, be the recipient of a Pell Grant and be a senior, junior or sophomore. The student must also have a minimum grade-point average of 2.5 and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better.
The Simmons Bank Student Development Scholarship was established July 13 when the Simmons Bank Martin Branch gifted $9,000 to the university.
