Final fall enrollment has reached 8,253 students at the University of Tennessee at Martin, the highest since 2010 and second-highest fall enrollment total in the university’s history. The total represents a 1.9% increase over the 8,101 students who enrolled in fall 2025. Increases in new graduate and dual enrollment students are among the enrollment highlights.
The university’s highest fall enrollment reached 8,469 students in fall 2010. Enrollment numbers are official on the 14th day of classes and are confirmed by the university’s Office of Institutional Research.
“These consecutive years of enrollment growth have happened through the hard work and dedication of many people,” said UT Martin Chancellor Yancy Freeman. “Students choose to attend UT Martin for many reasons, and we will continue providing the highest-possible educational experience that prepares our graduates to be productive members in the workforce and good citizens in a changing world. This new enrollment total represents another important step toward our goal of reaching 10,000 students and continuing UT Martin’s positive momentum.”
The total enrollment includes 1,169 first-year students, 368 transfers, 237 new graduate students and 2,373 dual enrollment students. Dual enrollment courses allow high school juniors and seniors to take college courses and earn both high school and college credit.
The top three majors for this year’s first-year class include nursing, veterinary science and business management.

Fall enrollment includes students at UT Martin’s main campus and six regional centers in Jackson, Parsons, Ripley, Selmer, Somerville and Springfield in Middle Tennessee. Online and students auditing courses are included in the total.
Students are enrolled from 91 of the 95 Tennessee counties, 43 states and the District of Columbia, and 20 countries in addition to the U.S.
UT Martin is a primary campus in the University of Tennessee System offering 23 bachelor’s degree programs that feature 142 specialized concentrations. The university offers eight graduate degrees that include 30 specialized concentrations.
In addition to the main campus and six regional centers, UT Martin Online offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees, including the online Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree for working adults.
UT Martin will celebrate its 100th year as part of the University of Tennessee System in 2027.
