UT Martin releases new specialty license plate

The University of Tennessee at Martin released a new specialty license plate that features the new Skyhawk attack logo created by DVL Seigenthaler, the Nashville office of global marketing and communications firm Finn Partners. The license plates are available for purchase to Tennessee residents at local county clerk offices upon request.

The license plate design was selected through a university-wide survey conducted in August 2020 to update the previous plate which debuted in 2003. Of the three options provided in the survey, the tri-striped plate with the attack logo received over 40% of the votes. The license plate was designed by the UT Martin Office of University Relations Design Coordinator Beth Bodwell.

“The new UT Martin specialty plate provides our alumni and friends with yet another opportunity to display their UT Martin pride,” said Chancellor Keith Carver. “I’m eager to fill the highways and byways with a Skyhawk fleet of cars and trucks across Tennessee.”

The plate costs an additional $36 to renew annually, and proceeds from each purchase benefit the Tennessee Arts Commission and the Tennessee Highway Fund.
