The Library Learning Commons is offering academic coaching for students this semester with expanded availability to better support student success.
Academic coaching is available:
- Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Academic coaching is a one-on-one student support service designed to help students develop the skills and habits needed for academic success. Coaches work alongside students to strengthen areas such as:
- Time management and scheduling
- Organization and planning
- Study strategies
- Note-taking techniques
- Goal setting and accountability
- Test preparation
- Motivation and academic confidence
Academic coaching is not tutoring and does not provide course content instruction. Coaches do not help complete assignments, edit papers or teach specific course material. Instead, they help students develop the learning strategies, routines and self-management skills that can be applied across most general education courses.
In addition to our in-person coaching services, we now have five Online Academic Coachesavailable to support students remotely. Information about our online coaches, their availability, and appointment scheduling can be found at the online academic coaching scheduling site.
