HUMAN RESOURCES TO PRESENT FACULTY, STAFF SERVICE AWARDS
UT Martin will recognize all regular faculty and staff this fall who have five or more years of service. Employees are honored every five years of service — at five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years. All employees who have or will have completed one of these milestones with the University of Tennessee System during the 2026 calendar year will be honored at an awards program in November. Honorees will receive a personal invitation.
The Office of Human Resources sent an email campus-wide with a listing of UT Martin faculty and staff who would be honored. Those who believe they should be on the list or notice an error should contact Greg Cooper in Human Resources at grekcoop@utm.edu by Tuesday, Sept. 1.
FREEMANS, MARTIN WOMEN’S CLUB TO HOST WELCOME RECEPTION
Chancellor Yancy and first lady Rafielle Freeman, along with the UT Martin Women’s Club, are hosting a Welcome Reception for all newcomers to the UT Martin family on Saturday, Sept. 5.
The gathering will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Dunagan Alumni Center, where faculty and staff will have the opportunity to meet campus leadership and connect with members of the UT Martin Women’s Club. Attendees are encouraged to show their school pride by wearing spirit wear to the event.
As a bonus, those who attend the reception will receive two complimentary tickets to cheer on the Skyhawks at the 6 p.m. football game against Chicago State that same evening — a perfect way to cap off an afternoon of making new connections!
Those planning to attend should RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 2, to either Amy Bates at 731-881-7507 (abates17@utm.edu) or Annie Schommer at 731-514-6403 (aschommer216@gmail.com).
RECYCLING FACILITY TO CLOSE SEPT. 2, LABOR DAY
The UT Martin Recycling Facility will close Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, so that a new baler can be installed. The recycling parking lot will be closed for safety reasons as the baler is being installed. Recycling will return to normal operating hours for the remainder of the week.
Recycling will be open this Saturday, Sept. 5, for regular hours but will close Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday.
The UT Martin Recycling Facility is at the end of Moody Street across from Transportation Services. Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
People with recycling needs can contact Andy Kissiar, recycling supervisor, for assistance. Those with questions can reach him by email at akissiar@utm.edu or by calling 731-881-3077.
PAUL MEEK LIBRARY TO HOST OPEN HOUSE
