19 UTM graduates accepted to veterinary schools

The University of Tennessee at Martin continues to successfully prepare several qualifying graduates to enter veterinary schools to further their education and experience in their pursuit of becoming doctors of veterinary medicine.

This year, 19 UT Martin veterinary science and technology graduates were accepted to veterinary schools for the fall 2025 semester. Of those, 12 will continue their education at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

Those graduates – with their year of graduation from UT Martin, hometown and veterinary school – are:

• Lynsey Buehler;2025 graduate from Valparaiso, Indiana; Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Taylor Cantrell; 2025 graduate from Newbern; University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Brock Fankhauser; 2024 graduate from Bethesda, Ohio; Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

• Ben Hayes; 2024 graduate from Paris; Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Caitlyn Henry; 2025 graduate from Lakeland; University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Ali Johnson; 2024 graduate from Old Hickory; Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

• Annika Jolley; 2025 graduate from Dresden; University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Claire Koch; 2025 graduate from Hendersonville; University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Hayden Spry; 2024 graduate from Mount Juliet; Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Hannah Tienter; 2025 graduate from Watertown; University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Joshua Tripp; 2025 graduate from Knoxville; University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

• Isabella Walker; 2025 graduate from Bartlett; Ross University School- of Veterinary Medicine.

• Peyton Wallace; 2025 graduate from Murfreesboro; University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.

These graduates and the 44 students who graduated in 2025 in the field of veterinary technology will help to ease the shortage of veterinarians and veterinary technicians across the nation, particularly in rural areas and the large-animal fields.

In fall 2024, UT Martin set a school record with 28 graduates attending veterinary schools across the U.S., with 20 of those graduates attending the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. In fall 2023, 21 graduates were accepted into veterinary schools.

With this year’s graduates, UT Martin has had 68 students accepted into veterinary schools over the last three years.
