UT Martin hosts Sigma XI Research Symposium

UT Martin hosted the annual joint Sigma Xi Research Symposium on Oct. 17 with Murray State University in the Latimer-Smith Engineering and Science Building and featured oral and poster presentations from a diverse range of disciplines, including agriculture, biology, behavioral science, chemistry, computer science/ cybersecurity, environmental science, engineering, health and human performance, mathematics, physics, library science, nursing and nutrition.

Thirty-two faculty, staff and graduate and undergraduate students attended the event that was sponsored by the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

Established in 1886 at Cornell University, Sigma Xi was designed to encourage a sense of companionship and cooperation among scientists in all fields. In line with the founders’ intentions, this symposium provided an opportunity for sharing a broad range of discoveries and ideas and networking with peers.
