Registration for the University of Tennessee at Martin’s Summer Orientation And Registration (SOAR) sessions will open online Sunday, Feb. 1.
SOAR is a required one-day orientation event designed to introduce first-year students to UT Martin and ease their transition into college life.
During these sessions, first-year students will have a chance to become acquainted with UT Martin’s campus culture, learn about curriculum and campus resources, and register for classes. Students will also have the chance to meet faculty, advisers and other new students.
The in-person SOAR sessions will take place on Monday, May 18; Tuesday, May 19; Friday, June 5; Thursday, June 18; Friday, July 10; Friday, July 24; and Friday, Aug. 7.
Throughout the summer, there are seven in-person SOAR sessions available to attend and one virtual session available. The virtual SOAR session will take place Tuesday, June 23, over Zoom and other online platforms.
All in-person SOAR sessions will take place at UT Martin’s Boling University Center at 11 Wayne Fisher Drive.
To register for SOAR, first-year students should visit their My UTMartin portal and select “SOAR Registration” under the admissions checklist.
The cost of registration is $65 for students and $35 for parents, guardians or siblings to attend. The registration fee for parents, guardians or siblings is only required to attend the in-person sessions. Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to attend SOAR with their student.
