UTM joins FirstGen Forward Network

The University of Tennessee at Martin has been made a member of the FirstGen Forward Network, effective Aug. 1.

FirstGen Forward (FGF) is the premier source of evidence-based practices, professional development and knowledge creation for the higher education community to advance the success of first-generation students.

UT Martin is now part of a select group of partner institutions helping to advance the FGF mission: to provide data, training and expertise for colleges and universities across the country to scale and sustain the important work of serving first-generation students.

“The University of Tennessee at Martin continues to provide access and develop leaders who are first-generation college students,” said Chancellor Yancy Freeman. “UTM’s participation in FirstGen Forward expands our opportunity to engage with a community of leaders on the best practices for recruiting, enrolling and graduating first-generation college students. We are proud to contribute to the wealth of knowledge to increase educational outcomes for our best and brightest students.”
