The University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Visual and Theatre Arts will host an abstract art exhibit titled “Blind Runner” by Melissa Dunn from Jan. 19 – Feb. 19.
Dunn is a Memphis-based artist who teaches adult art courses at Flicker Street Studio and volunteers at the Carpenter Art Garden afterschool art program. Dunn was recently awarded a public art commission by the Urban Art Commission, as well as a residency at Crosstown Arts in Memphis. While Dunn is unable to be present at the exhibit’s opening night, a Zoom interview with the artist is being scheduled to learn more about her work.
The exhibit’s premiere will be livestreamed via the department’s Facebook page at 5:30 p.m., Jan. 19. The exhibit will be open to the public from 1 – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, and all guests are required to wear masks.
