UT Martin Dance Ensemble to start fall tour

MARTIN, Tenn. – Five students from the University of Tennessee at Martin Dance Ensemble will tour middle and high schools this semester to present their fall showcase across the region.

The ensemble will perform at both Mt. Pleasant middle and high schools on Oct. 24, Creswell Middle Prep School for the Arts in Nashville on Oct. 25, Overton High School in Memphis on Oct. 29, and Hickory Ridge Middle School in Memphis on Nov. 2. Each location will include a master class for area dancers, taught by Sarah McCormick, UT Martin associate professor of dance.

Three of the four schools employ dance instructors who graduated from the UT Martin dance education program. Teachers Abby Murphy (Mt. Pleasant High School), Bria Evans (Creswell) and Carman Norfleet (Hickory Ridge Middle School) are all 2015 UT Martin graduates.
